The Turning Point
Watering The Seed Podcast - Coach D. Jackson
The Shift From Awareness to Action
In Episode 1, we discovered the importance of awareness—recognizing that the “fruit” in our lives often grows from seeds planted long before us. In Episode 2, we saw the impact on bloodlines, how unhealed wounds ripple through families and shape generations.
But now we stand at the turning point: What do we do with what we know?
Awareness is powerful. Understanding impact is necessary. But if we stop there, nothing changes. Healing begins when awareness becomes action—when we decide to break the cycle and plant something new.
Scripture Insight
2 Corinthians 5:17 declares:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
This isn’t just a verse—it’s a lifeline. It’s a reminder that no matter what your family has carried—anger, silence, abandonment, rejection—you have the authority to start fresh. Cycles may have shaped you, but they don’t have to define you.
A Story of New Fruit
Marcus grew up in chaos. His father was absent, and his home echoed with anger. As a man, he found himself slipping into the same patterns—present in body but absent in spirit, withdrawn when life grew heavy.
But Marcus made a choice. He sought therapy, invited mentors into his life, and learned how to name what he felt instead of burying it. He began apologizing when he fell short. Slowly, he showed up for his children in ways his father never could.
Today, Marcus’s children are growing up with presence instead of absence, connection instead of silence. His choice to break free means his kids inherit not pain, but healing.
Practical Steps to Break the Cycle
- Awareness – Name the pattern honestly. Don’t water it down.
- Accountability – Invite help: therapy, spiritual guidance, mentors. Healing is too heavy to carry alone.
- Action – Plant new seeds: healthier habits, stronger boundaries, intentional love. Every small step forward is proof the cycle ends with you.
Reflection Question
What cycle am I committed to breaking, and what new fruit do I want future generations to inherit?
I am the cycle breaker. Healing begins with me. My roots are restored, my fruit is fresh, and my bloodline will walk in freedom.

Seeds, remember this: pain may run in your family, but so does resilience. Trauma may sit in your bloodline, but so does strength. You are not just carrying cycles—you are called to break them.
